Hi i was just looking for some advice as im due to switch over to UC from ESA. The amount of CMS i receive is the same monthly bar in April of this year where an amount was paid to pay off old arrears when it was a case with CSA. I just wondered if this will be disregarded or not its under the 6k threshold im just confused as to whether or not it needs declared as it was a child maintenance payment any help would be appreciated

That payment will be treated as capital, if your total capital is less than £6,000 it is disregarded. When you claim UC one of the questions asked when filling out the form is how much you capital you have in total so you will need to tell them what you have.
