Hi for some completely unknown reason my uc50 form was sent to my neighbours address not my address which is stated on my uc account.

Just looking at the letter after she handed it back quite obvious it had been opened so now the said person knows my national insurance number ect which is causing me a great deal of worry.

UC are saying they have no idea why it was sent to a different address now it causes me a great deal off stress, if I feel the form in and send it back what if I don't realise and make a mistake and they sent it back to a neighbour again.

The form is horrendous it's like applying for pip all over again I'm finding it so hard to fill in, do I have the option of withdrawing the sick part of my claim on the basis I can't manage the uc50 form.

Is the address on the envelope your neighbours address and not yours? Have you checked your UC account to ensure they have your full and correct address on your statements?

I am finding it difficult to understand how this can happen when so much of this process is automated.

Hi, yes the address on the letter was my neighbours and my address on my UC account is correct for my house I don't trust dwp to get anything right.

I received a UC letter for one of my neighbours a while ago. Accidentally opened it as I didn't check the name first. I just wrote 'wrong address' or words to that effect and put in their letter box.

I was more concerned that it would affect my own claim if DWP thought we were living together. But I never heard any more about it so assume the property number was just a typo that was quickly corrected afterwards.

I have heard of this happening to other people as well. Realistically I don't think it happens often enough to worry about. Although I do understand the security risk if it did get to an unscrupulous neighbour.
