Chances of a 2 bed property
Good evening,
IIve recently applied for council housing due to my changes in medical conditions & the effect my current property is having. I've been accepted on the waiting list & am now commencing the priority application my care advocate in my local gp surgery is helping.
The one issue I have is they have accepted us for a 1 bedroom property as its only myself & a partner but due to various sleep/medical related issues we cannot share a room.
Do you think its possible to get upgraded to a 2 bed property & if so how would I go about it.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @hmass01, do you have a housing officer working with you at the moment, or are you in touch with the council about your housing?
If you or your advocate get in touch with the council they should hopefully be able to advise you about whether you'd qualify for an extra bedroom on disability grounds. If you qualify they should be able to start the process for you and will be able to let you know if there's anything you might need to do.
Fingers crossed you can get the property you're hoping for 😊

I don't have a housing officer I assume I could contact someone at the council to find one.

Thank you for your response, I have someone who is helping with my application & a medical priority has been submitted, but this is for one bedroom properties. I'm just wondering if I could be reassessed after the medical priority
