Hi, my name is An1! Issues with carers allowance, any advice about what to do?
Hi my case is a little different in the fact that I have been waiting for a old case of carers to be closed down because the person I was caring for died and I am now caring for someone else now but still waiting on my old account to close but I put a new claim in over 5 months ago now for the new person that I am caring for now and I still haven't heard anything about my old carers allowance account closing and my new carers allowance starting, I have phoned up so many times and I have given all the information that was asked quite some time ago and now I have been told that they are waiting on internal information for my old case then my old case will be cancelled and the new case will start but this has been going on for over 5 months and I am just getting the same or very similar response every time I call. Hope someone can help me with advice or what to do as I would be very grateful for this.

Hi @An1, welcome to the community 😊
I'm afraid I don't have much advice for this as it's not something I've come across before, but I hope some of our members might be able to share if something similar has happened to them. I just wanted to welcome you to the community anyway, I hope you can find some answers for what you're going through and everything gets sorted out soon!
