Worrying about phone assesment.

Hey all. Someone is writing this for me so it might take me a while to reply to you all.
I have limited capability for work and have done since before 2017 so when I transferred to Universal Credit, I got given the limited capability for work element. Which if I lose this assesment I'll lose.
They cancelled my face to face and changed it to a phone appointment and I'm worried because I might not have someone with me now. I had someone on the day but now probably won't. I have learning disabilities and autism. I'm quite worried I'll be found fit for work when I've just started getting somewhere with support and therapy etc. I was fired many years ago for having too many doctor appointments and again 2 years ago.
I've heard many horror stories about phone assesments and had more evidence for the assessor I could not send with my UC 50 because it came late and I didn't know it was coming.
What's your experience on work phone assesments? Thanks

The majority of assessments are by telephone. The only difference is they can’t see you.
The majority of people are found to have LCWRA. The bed stories for the work capability assessment are certainly much less than what they are for PIP. On here one of the most common questions is when the extra money is due to be paid because they’ve been found to have LCWRA.
If you have extra evidence there’s no reason why you can’t still send it. Ring the assessment providers and ask for an address for where to send it and they will tell you.

Hey @Wonderman, I'm sorry you likely won't have someone with you now. Have you considered maybe going through with someone everything that should be mentioned and getting notes together? That way you can have the notes in front of you when on the call, you can check off what's been mention or covered so you're sure that everything relevant has been mentioned?

Hi, I had a telephone assessment for my esa and for me it was a good experience.
I was dreading the thought I may had to go to an assessment center for a f2f
The nurse was very empathetic and seemed to have a good insight into my health issues and the impact they have on my ability to function.
I am hoping to get a telephone assessment when my pip is next due for reassessment.
In my personal experience it was a whole lot less stressful than f2f.
