I’m a little confused by your questions. You mention PIP but then mention “a work related thingy” and also getting your “stamp” paid.

PIP is not about your ability to work and you won’t receive any National Insurance credits from claiming PIP.

Are you sure this is PIP and not about the work capability assessment for ESA or Universal Credit?

    Hi,

Sorry can you confirm whether this is for PIP or Universal Credit or New Style ESA?

PIP isn't about working and it doesn't pay stamp. So it must be for UC OR NS ESA instead?

sorry I am really confused with all of this

On the back of my letter from the court it says I am awarded pip

On the front of the letter it says (ESA)

Sounds like you’ve applied for ESA as well. That is a completely different benefit to PIP.

    Is it 2 different letters?

Hi @lilacbella, welcome to the community 😊

Just to clarify, you were on a PIP appeal, but they called up before the tribunal was due to convene and offered you 18 points, and informed you about a work related thing?

Did they mention Employment and Support Allowance in this call at all?

The backpay can take some time to calculate if it is over a year, but have you started receiving the regular PIP payments?

I'm going to move this to our general Benefits category as there are a few different benefits being mentioned

hi I have had no payment nothing as far as I know pip was what I was going to get for a whole year

Then yes in that phone call a couple of hours before my tribunal time he said if you go for this work related thing I would not have to attend the tribunal I was so relieved as I was really quite nervous that was it they didn’t explain anything else

What you're saying makes no sense because PIP isn't about your ability to work so there would be nothing work related you would need to do for that.

PIP isn't paid for just a year, it can be paid for longer depending on what length of award you have before you have a review.

The work related part you mention refers to either ESA or Universal Credit. Have you claimed ESA at all in the past and had a work capability assessment? New Style ESA is paid for one year if you're placed into the Work Related Activity Group/also known as LCW.

If placed into the Support Group for ESA, also known as LCWRA then it's paid for as long as you remain entitled to it.

I didn’t realise that if I went for this work related thing I would no longer be eligible for pip :( it felt like I was being duped if you know what I mean

That's not correct because they are different benefits.

You should still be eligible for PIP. This sounds like you really need to call the DWP to check what has been agreed here. Once that is known I think we can probably answer questions better.

    PIP enquiry line

    Telephone: 0800 121 4433

    Textphone: 0800 121 4493

Until we all know what it was you were offered and/or given in that agreement we are all just guessing I'm afraid. Which doesn't get you anywhere 😕
