Hi. Am here. An new to the benefit system.
I had to leave work in may 2024…i claim UC for housing and Esa assisment rate.
I have filled out an Esa50 and had my assessment on 25th September, they called me to say I don't need to have the assignment that they have enough evidence.
I've had to provide sick notes to UC and Esa ever 4 weeks since may.
I've had to go to the job centre for work realted jobs.. Even though I can't work.
I had a video chat with UC today one of my appointments, she said that I don't need to send nomore sick notes or attend interview.
I got a message on my journal which is a letter saying am awarded LCWRA.
Am confused now because I've been getting esa, and I've only filled a Esa50 form.
So am now on uc and mot been put in the support group of esa?
Am also waiting on tribunal date for pip. Any help would be great thanks.

Hey there @Don72 and welcome to the community.
I understand your situation must be a bit confusing, I'd be confused too! Usually before being given LCWRA you'd need to do a work capability assessment first, so I'm unsure how that's happened. Hopefully some of the community will be able to give you a firm answer on all this soon.

As you are claiming both New style ESA and UC it is known as a dual claim. The decision on the work capability assessment will apply to both benefits.
For ESA you will be entitled to extra money from the 14th week of your claim. Once payments increase the deduction from UC will also increase.
For UC the extra money applies from the 4th assessment period after you provided your first fit note.
