I hope everything goes through smoothly for you, which im sure it will @poppy123456 . I am still waiting for my pip review form to arrive. I just wanted to ask , does the month I have to return the forms start from the date I received the txt from dwp saying my pip is now under review?- so from last Wednesday. Also can I send further evidence at a later date, separately to my review forms?

@Asia23 you're very welcome. Yes, that's exactly why he rang me. He was actually very nice and quite pleasant and well spoken.
Yes, I knew about the increased effort into paper based decisions for reviews. I also knew what Stephen Timms said. Thank you for providing that link though.
For my last review in 2021 I didn't report changes and didn't really send any additional medical evidence that time. I just gave those real world examples. They used the previous assessment report and the form I filled in to make their decision that time.
I also think it's extremely important for people to give as much detailed information as possible. The more relevant information they give, the less chance you have of needing an assessment. It sounds like you did exactly what you needed to do when you filled out the form. As I'm sure by now you know the usual advice I give to so many people. π
I received the letter telling me when award was extended back in June so yes, I you're a few months behind me. Hopefully though, you won't be wait as long as I have and you'll have a decision quite quickly now.
Please do keep me update and let me know once you have the decision, if that's ok.
Thank you. Yes, the timescale to return the form will be from when you received the text. I received my text on 30th October 2023, I can see that on my phone. I did ring to ask for extra time and they gave me to extra weeks, which took me until 12 December to return it. I returned it well within that time and bang on 12 December I received a text to say they received it. I still have all the texts.
Yes, you can send evidence at anytime. Although I usually like to try to send it with the form, if I have any of course. Don't forget those real world examples are also one of the most important parts of your claim.
What I usually do when filling out the form is do a little at a time. I usually type my answers but making sure I clearly state which question it relates to. I give to 2 real world examples per descriptor that applies to me. I do write a small amount on each question of the form, if there's been no changes I will say that and then ask them to see extra sheets for more information.
I hope this helps.

Poppy, I feel sure that if the decision maker told you that your file is not going to be sent to an assessor then that's as good as being told the decision is made to continue your award. After all, they are the final arbiters of the decision to continue to award you, not the assessment provider.
Of course, I will keep you updated when I hear anything. Hopefully, I've provided enough information in my form and accompanying evidence to allow a case manager to put my review through without an assessment, since I am reporting no changes and have given sufficient evidenced detail to continue to meet the relevant descriptors. The only issue is with the backlogs whether an update will be needed or not if it takes up to a year for them to even look at my file.
Let us know when you get your decision! ππ€1 -
I have heard nothing apart from an extension letter up until May of next year, I sent forms in for my daughter's review for the 5th Dec 2023. A year sounds about right I guess.
Glad you've lheard about yours Poppy, everything crossed for you! π

Thank you. I did post a thread with an update. The decision maker was true to his word and the decision was made yesterday. Award increased to Enhanced for both parts until 2030. Very happy, now just waiting for the decision letter.

What fantastic news for you Poppy! Thanks for updating me, hopefully others waiting will hear back in good time. I would just advise if you are waiting to try and put it to the back of your mind, really not easy I know, but I've found after a few months, the wait became a little less heavy on my mind..
Best wishes to all π

Thank you. Yes, it's a very long wait. I didn't really think of it most of the way through. It wasn't until the last couple of weeks that it was on my mind more. I"m glad it's all done now and they also awarded me the higher rate from October 2023 so they owe me some money too, which will be nice.
I hope you're not waiting too much longer and it will be good news for you.

Hi Poppy, I have just received the PIP letter for my daughter - the continuation of enhanced for both mobility and daily living until 2028! They had all the information they needed for a paper based assessment, I'm beyond pleased for her (and very thankful for a couple of years off from filling in these forms!)
The DWP must be powering through these forms now though, as all we seem to be getting them at once! π

Aww that's fantastic news for both of you!! I know exactly how you feel because I felt the same way with mine. At least now you can relax for a while. Thank you also for the update.

You're very welcome re the update.. βΊοΈ
But it is awful really Poppy, because unless they go through it themselves, I really don't think people wouldn't believe the emotional roller coaster disabled people (and their carers) face trying to get the support they need. Anyone who says it's a easy option to claim benefits, are being incredibly naive!
I hope things change in the future, and we are all treated with the respect and understanding we rightly deserve..
Take care π

Hello Poppy!
I remembered you asked me back in October when your PIP Review was completed to come back and let you know when I'd heard anything.
You may remember I returned my PIP review form back in April 2024.
Well, this morning I received a text to say my PIP review is complete. I phoned to find out what the decision was and I'm happy to let you know that my award is being renewed at the exact same rate (enhanced daily living) for the exact same award length (4 years) as last time. My file was not forwarded to the assessment provider. The decision was made in-house by the Decision Maker at the DWP based on the information I provided, i.e. paper-based. I did not receive a phone call for further clarification or anything, as I feared. It was just put straight through. So, for me, it took almost 9 months to get a decision (without assessment) from when I returned my form. It seems like they are maybe catching up a bit.
Such a relief! Thank you for all your help and advice.

@Asia23 thank you for returning with an update! That is excellent news! I know that will be a huge relief to you, as it was for me too. Now you can at least relax for a while.
Yes, a few members have had decisions quicker than it has been in the last 4 years or so, lets hope it continues this way.

Yes a massive relief! I'm told I don't have to worry about another review until after January 2028!
All I need to concern myself with now is UC Migration from ESA Income Related (with HB). Haven't received a notice yet, thank God. It could be anytime from now until December 2025 at the latest according to the DWP's intended timetable. No doubt, I will call upon your excellent advice, as needed.
Thanks again!
