My son brought me a bookshop model for my birthday. It took so many attempts and hours to make just the bookshelf inside the shop. I'm not known for my patience so this was challenging for me. It took a week to complete. I am pleased with the result though.

Additionally my friend gave me the lego tree for my birthday. After several attempts nit to break it when adding branches I completed it in 3 days.

They Both look lovely in my room. Have you got hobbies that you would like to share pictures of?

Hobbies are a saviour as Nightcity mentioned keeps our minds wandering to places we shouldn’t necessarily be going. Thank you all for sharing brilliant idea Sharebear, thank you.

I definitely do things to stop myself thinking. I'm an avid switch player too x

What a talented group you all are. I am known for not having much patience and I give up too early when learning new things. I don’t think it’s a hobby but I do enjoy history and going to historical houses. I enjoy a spooky book and film and would like to start making some air clay things.
I have been fortunate enough to work but due to ill health I lost my job and I’m a bit lost. I’m inspired by all of your hobbies and I feel that I must fill my time with interesting things to do.

I have a few different interests. One hobby I have is video game modification, that is on hold at the moment though.

Two other things I like collecting are old maps and flags. I haven't many flags just yet, mostly been focusing on the maps 😁 I have copies of 18th century maps for many of the places I've lived in my life. As well as a few old early-mid 20th century road maps.

    Here's a picture of one

Image description: [A picture of an old road map of England, Wales and southern Scotland, it also includes some topographical routes in the bottom and top right hand corners]

I can't remember the exact date for this one now, but I know in my collection I have a 1921 map, one from 1932, a 1965 one and two from the 70s.

It's interesting seeing how different towns have grown in size, while others have remained the same.

Those maps all sounds really interesting Qasimo. I won't be making an offer, but I appreciate the gesture. Part of the hobby for me is going into the old book/antique stores and markets and finding them.

I suppose my top hobbies are writing, photography, and although it's not really a hobby for me gardening (as I'm Uni level trained in Horticulture). Oh and flying kites & going to kite festivals.
I really miss that tho. I just don't have anyone to go with and ideally you need a car, or someone with a car to get to places.
I guess you'd mostly see a pattern of outdoor stuff!

I have one framed just now @Sharebear, I'll share it below, and we just bought a frame for another yesterday actually.

I don't plan on framing all of them, so I only buy a frame when I really want to display one.

Here is my early 19th century map of Hertfordshire, I haven't yet looked up an exact date, but due to the railway lines I can tell it's from between 1837 and 1850. As there are railway lines going through Watford and to Hertford but the Great Northern Railway which passes through Stevenage and Hitchin hasn't been built yet.

    @vikki66 thank you.

Give it a go. If I can do it anyone can.

It's not a race you could do a little every day.

The most relaxing bit was making the books.

Took me well out of my comfort zone but the sense of achievement is nice.
