Me my other half disabled we had migrate letter to go to uc now my friend on uc and it been ages and she still haven’t got paid I got 3 months so deadline just after Christmas but I have to pay prepayment meter every day witch unreal and gas I’m really worried can I still keep on till just after Christmas or do have to go on it straight away and what evidence do they need as it migration everyone says how bad it is I’m really stressed over it and website is totally rubbish I think I’m going to be worse off can any one help please

    You don't have to apply straight away. You have until the deadline so plenty of time. Which benefits are you currently claiming exactly please?

    esa tax credits disability premiums with is in with benefit I just am terrified how bad this uc is the poor women still haven’t got hers it been weeks she was surposed to get paid Friday never did they never answer her thing she writes on phone don’t know nothing it terrible it like they like to punish you housing benefit we private landlord who our electric is unreal but daily because you can not regulate it it turned up meter really nasty landlord I can’t afford to get into any dept and I don’t know if you have to do give any evidence from migration over

    my deadline is 10 jan 2025 so I was going to wait till after Christmas but I am worried I can’t sleep it caused me to have bad panic attacks not sleeping because I just can’t understand it all and I get terrified of these things

    Yes, I would wait until the new year to claim. Once your claim is submitted your Income Related ESA and housing benefit will continue for 2 weeks. Tax credits will stop.

    If in the Support Group you'll be entitled to the LCWRA element from the start of your claim. You will not be worse off when you migrate across. If your UC entitlement is less than your current benefits then Transitional Protection will be included.

    Citizens Advice have a help to claim phone number so I'd strongly advise you to contact them before you decide to apply. They will guide you through the process and give you all the help, support and advice you need.
