so i applied for pip when the forms arrived filled them all out, sent them off and had text about assesment which was a telephone assesment done last week, waited a couple of days and then requested my report.

The report arrived and after reading it i couldnt believe how much the assesor had been untrue in what she had wrote, things had been added that i hadnt said, things had been left out, she had made up stuff about why i was on certain medication it was so unbelieveable that she had done this, so today i called capita to make a complaint which i was pleasently surposed at how sympethetic the lady was on the phone she listened to every word and completey understood everything i was saying. (sorry about some of the spelling i have dyslexia)

I also spoke to dwp and they said the descision has not been made yet and it isnt just about the assesment they take all evidence into consideration aswell, but i always assumed that they go with what is wrote in the assesment.

Has anyone else been through anything similar or have any advice please.

thankyou

Mostly they go with the assessment report but it has been known for them to go against it. Have you added up any potential points that maybe recommended in the report? You need at least 8 points for standard and at least 12 points for Enhanced.

If you haven't added them up you can do so by using the PIP self test and transfer the dots/ticks from the report into the test. It will add up any points for you.

Once the decision is made if you're not happy you can challenge it by requesting the Mandatory Reconsideration.

Hi @bags28, welcome to the community. Sorry to hear your report was disappointing and you didn't feel like they represented your conditions correctly.

It's good that you've made a complaint, and as Poppy mentioned, if you're not happy with the result you can challenge it at Mandatory Reconsideration. Lots of members have been through the process so you won't be alone, and if you have any questions about it I'm sure you'll get some good advice 😊

    Best of luck!
