Hey everyone!

As suggested by @Albus_Scope I thought I’d get us started on a thread dedicated to video games!

So what’s everyone playing at the moment?

    Excellent work @Luchia !

Currently I've been playing a lot of Once Human on the PC. A mix of base building and looter shooter. Though I mostly just build nice houses each season. 😆

Also dabbling in Frostpunk 2 and Space Marine 2 when my brain will let me focus.

Debating whether to treat myself to a PS5 (not the digital version) 🤔

The Black Friday sales are coming up soon, Nintendo usually has some pretty good deals with the Switch.

Just a little tip, any games you want put them on your watch list on the E-Shop and when Nintendo has a games sale(very regularly) they will email you to let you know the game is on sale, The sales are usually quite generous too, £50-60 games drop down to £9-19 for a couple of days.

I tried to play Minecraft that the grandkids were playing, they wasn't amused with me and kept trying to take over lol. I'm more bandicoot and mario I love mario carts too.

Showing my age here, but I remember when Minecraft was free and hardly anyone knew about it. 😆 Mario Cart is a classic though.

Maybe we should do a poll to see if Poppy should buy a PS5? 😁

@Albus_Scope too late, I’ve already bought it this morning 🫣😂

@Luchia I definitely will once it’s set up but that won’t be until this evening when I’m home.

Yaaaaaaay! I'm excited for you now Poppy! Which one did you go for?

I do have far too many old school games, but I keep going back to the really old stuff like all of the Lucasarts/SCUMM games. Day of the tentacle is a favorite, but I'm determined to finally complete Grim Fandango this year.

@Albus_Scope the disc version. I didn’t want the digital one because I do like that actual game discs too.

I absolutely love video games and grew up with many different systems! I even had an old Amstrad that ran on cassette tapes and took 5 minutes to load 😂 At the minute I'm playing Rayman Legends on the Switch, but my favourite game of all time (except for Mario) is The Dream Machine. It's on PC and it's a puzzle game that uses stop motion and it gets very weird.

I love Crash Bandicoot too @Sandy_123. Had it for my PS1 and now have it for the Switch.

@JessieJ I've seen Switch's for sale on Vinted which are a bit cheaper. It's a great console, especially if you like Mario. Animal Crossing is super relaxing too.

I'll show my age, I still have my original Radofin, the first of the games consoles when it was ping pong, tennis etc. Then I have my Atari 2600, then a Spectrum, a Nintendo NES, a Sega & 3 different Gameboys!! I keep meaning to get the Sega out, as I got pretty good at golf. 🤣

Thank you for the tips, @Luchia & @Rachel_Scope. I stayed with my niece & enjoyed playing with my great niece's Switch. Quite enjoyed Animal Crossing & my sister has one now & plays Mario on it, we used to be hooked on that with the NES. She asked if I wanted to borrow her Switch, but she'd probably never get it back. 😉

Im founder of a gaming community playing dayz, hosting 6 servers thanks to the community donations, but my daughter recently gifted me a copy of supermarket simulator which I'm finding to be great for a chilled less stress gaming session

Oh you've got some crackers there @JessieJ I do miss the noises the old atari joysticks made. ❤️ I'm probably selling my Switch Lite, I'm just not using it much and the money is always handy. It is a lovely bit of kit though and I'll probably miss my Animal Crossing house. 😆

Oh wow, that's awesome @dreamwarrior I have a few friends who are really into their DayZ.

I actually have a few games on the go at the moment.

I’m playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PS5 and Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster on my switch, Xbox is currently having some downtime at the moment.

I always buy a couple of games for each console a month so I’ve always plenty to play, I keep meaning to start Pokémon Scarlet & Violet but haven’t got around to it as of yet

How're you finding the FF7 remake @Luchia ? I own it, but haven't put much time into it. It's certainly nice having updated graphics!

Seems we have a lot of Mario Kart players here. The big question is, who do you play as? Or are you kind and let others choose first?

I'm currently looking into a very nifty bit of software for a review on the community. It gives people the ability to play games with their eyes and facial gestures. It could be (pardon the pun) a total game changer for the disabled gamer. 😁
