UC LWRCA question

Hi i posted before which was hwlpful thank you, I have now beem awarded UC backdated to June, despite being told many times on my journal i wasnt entitled. I wrote a complaint to DWP and a few days later was awarded.

I have been accepted as LWRCA, by my guessing this should be:

June/july self certify sick

July/aug sick note

Aug/sept sick note

Sept/ oct sick note assessed 25/09/24 and awarded 08/10/24.

I have been told i will receive LWRCA on 10th dec, however i *think this should be paid from October?

    The waiting period is 3 full assessment periods starting from when you provided your first fit note. It's then paid from the 4th month, with first payment being the end of that month.

    Self cert is up to 7 days after you reported your health condition. I'm not sure what you mean by self cert June/July.

    What date exactly did you provide your first fit note? what date do you usually receive your money each month?

    Hi thanks for the reply. June i self certified sick, gave sick note 17th july, so assume the period starts then?

    Usually receive funds on 22nd of the month.

    Payments on 22nd of every month means your assessment periods are 16th to 15th of every month.

    You provided your first fit note the day after the start of July/August assessment period, which doesn't count because it's not a full month.

    Therefore your waiting period will be Aug/Sept, Sept/Oct, Oct/Nov.. LCWRA starts from 16th Nov to 15th Dec and first payment will be 22nd December. No LCWRA element is owed.

    If you or a partner were receiving earnings since you provided your first fit note and you didn't previously have the work allowance, you'll be owed some money from that.

    I'm unsure why you've been told 10th December when payment date is 22nd.

    What date did your claim close? and when did you start the claim again?

    I'm just thinking that if you couldn't provide a fit note because your claim closed I'd advise you to ask them if you provided a backdated fit note would they consider starting the waiting period from an earlier date.
