Carer's element and LCWRA

Morning 🌞
I receive UC with carers element and disabled child element as well.
I have adhd and never added it to my journal until the other day. I haven't applied for LCWRA just did the change on my UC account to say ADHD.....but someone has told me they may award it automatically and then my carer's element is taken off.
And then I am not classed as his carer anymore. I'm getting really confused googling it!
Does anyone have any idea? I hope I haven't made a mistake!

Hello @Stroud2024.
You won't automatically be awarded LCWRA, and it is not granted solely based on a diagnosis. Unless you have been submitting fit notes to UC, it is unlikely that you will trigger a work capability assessment (WCA), which is necessary to be assessed for LCWRA.
If you decide to proceed with a work capability assessment and are awarded LCWRA, it is true that you will no longer receive the carer element from UC, as you will instead receive LCWRA, which pays a higher amount.

LCWRA and Carers element can't be paid to the same person at the same time. If you're claiming UC with a partner then your partner can claim carers element, while you claim the LCWRA element, if awarded.
