@MissMel Income Related ESA and housing benefit (for those that claim it) both continue for 2 weeks after you submit your claim for UC. Therefore, the wait for your first payment is about 3 weeks, not 5 weeks.

I completely agree with you. Those that have positive experience when they migrate have no questions to ask so we don't hear their story. Many people migrate to UC without issues. It's a shame your thread has turned this way.

It really isn't as bad as you think it is and you'll be finically better off too and that HAS to be a very good thing, especially in these difficult times.

When you make a claim by telephone there will be no journal. I manage my daughter's UC claim as her appointee and the journal is so much easier for everything. No ringing DWP departments and getting stupid advice and incorrect information, no long queues and no music to go bonkers about.

I wouldn't trust the UC helpline to pass on any information if I'm honest.

Exactly this. Having access to a journal is not a bad thing. At least this way you can put messages on there yourself. Not having a journal could cause more stress and anxiety.

@Nashota You're welcome and thank you. I'm sorry that some comments on here have made you feel this way.

I have asked a member of the scope team to split the comments from Chris into a new thread, which I did last night. I'm sure they will do that once they start work this morning.

I remember that missed question from yourself and I believe it was me that missed it and answered another person's question instead. It wasn't until your thread was split that I see your question.

It's very easy to miss questions when someone else posts on someone's thread and this can happen to the original poster of the thread and the other person that posts their own question.

You probably already know this but just incase you don't, if there's something that concerns you or upsets you, you can flag the comments and a member of the scope team will step in. They are usually quick to respond unless it's after working hours and then sometimes we have to wait until the following morning.

I hope you have a lovely day and you slept well. 😊

You're welcome. I know the feeling with FM because that's one of my conditions too.

I'll also sympathise with Bronn waking you so early, my Alfie does that all the time and with him it's usually anytime from about 5am. I'll sometimes put the duvet over my face but he pulls it down with his paws. 🙄😂

I slept ok thank you, until I was rudely woken.

I hope you weren't rudely awoken by us in the forum?

Hey folks, just to let you know, I've created a separate discussion for you, so as to leave the original topic for others to see. Hope that's ok. 😊

No haha, Alfie is my cat and he has a habit of waking me up way too early every morning.

Sorry to hear you're struggling @ChrisSCOPEhtfc94 but try to remember that people will always talk about their bad experiences, you never tend to hear about the good ones. And often the good experiences completely outweigh the bad ones. But I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be trouble free for you. 😊
