Hi, my name is DH1984!

After 12 months of waiting, I finally had had my PIP tribunal.
I have been awarded enhanced rate mobility and wish to apply for a motobility car. I'm 40 years old and held my licence for 25 months.
I have had 2 accidents in that time. One my fault the other was definitely 50/50 but it went down as my fault on the insurance (literally a scratched bumper on both cars)
Will I still be eligible or will I be declined in the insurance?
If I am refused insurance can my carer be insured to drive the motobility car so at least I can still get about?
Many thanks

I am unsure about the insurance side for yourself, as I have never been able to drive. But your carer can be insured.

Best thing to do is ring Motability and ask them. Yes your carer can be insured on it but they can only use the vehicle for your purpose.

Hey @DH1984, it is as Poppy says. When it comes to whether you can get insurance we unfortunately can't really make a guess there. You have to speak with Motability and they determine whether you can get insurance or not. Your carer can certainly get insured on it if you cannot, though they cannot use the vehicle for their own personal use.
Let us know if you do have any more questions about Motability 😊
Oh, and congrats on winning your tribunal! 🎉
