Should I ask pip to look at question 9 points awarded?

Hi ,I've just had my pip renewed without an assessment although it's taken them nearly 12 months to do so.Ive only been awarded 2 points for question 9 (mixing with other people )and my daughter is encouraging me to appeal this .Firstly I need prompting from her to be able to engage with other people which gave me 2 points, but also I can not engage with others unless she is with me because I find it too overwhelming and often ask her to take me home due to my anxiety levels .Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm not sure I want to put myself through this .

Hi, how many points do you have for daily living? will it help you get an higher award if they gave you 4 points? If so, go for it if you think you fit 9c. You need 12+ points for enhanced.

As you are probably aware, you can only receive one lot of points per descriptor.

How many points did you score in total for daily living part? Would those extra 2 points make any difference to the award you already have?

They have some info on CAB site about MR's, I don't know how to get it to link for me so I'll just post the address below.

If you write in your Mandatory Reconsideration why you think you should have scored those extra points and give some real life examples there is a chance that the decision can change. While MR rate of success is much lower than a tribunal it is still a possibility.

In the end it is up to you whether you do it or not. If you think you should have scored those extra points and are entitled to the higher rate, and you have the support of your family to help you through the process it should be easier. You do also have the second step appeal process of the tribunal as well if you need it.
