Recently won my tribunal case against UC

Hi,
as we are all struggling financially especially as people with disability or chronic conditions or disease etc.
I used to work in this country for 22 years and I have never claim any benefits or new about it as I was healthy that time. After my work accident my career to became a paramedic was out of window. As I did look after people and have had a two job if I could do them as sometimes is hard as you think about bills and money and not after yourself .
changing my story as due work accident my work paid me for year but then I have to get to the universal credit as Covid came and all my appointments were delayed and scans etc.
Went to the job centre and told them I need a spare room as when I can sleep due to my pain and I have bad insomnia my fiancé can get sleep in spare room. I did told them at the job centre and also by my housing officer was involved with it as he told me I was being charge every month £45 for the room we are using. I was putting on journal about my spare room and they told me I should change my circumstances online and I said to them on my journal I mentioned that already to the job centre and I should not repeating myself 5 times as I thought everything was done correctly. They told me I am not entitle to it. Ok then I will go further as I am not happy and I have never ever claim benefits before but the website like this and benefits work website help me to open my eyes. Of course my appeal and mandatory was denied again. I went to the tribunal court in here in Scotland took a long time to wait but I said to myself I have nothing to lose and I have to fight and think positive but my bad anxiety and stress kicked in. Of course this is my third language it’s not so easy . Btw so sorry for spelling as my phone sometimes change my spelling.
I was like this is my day today and the court phoned me as I have forgotten about my court case. I am forgetting now even I am in my 40s …
just to let you know I won after that I was ill as I was so worry about it what they are going to say or ask me.
please don’t give up and believe yourself as if you have evidence is nothing to lose just fight over your rights.
Sometimes I am thinking this government systems forgetting about elderly and disable people

I'm sorry you had to fight so hard for it, but I'm really pleased to hear you won your tribunal in the end @annas. Thank you for sharing and for encouraging other members not to give up fighting.

Hello ,
thank you very much for your reply but I have to fight again as they are refusing to paying me money as claimed should be closed and they have made mistake and saying the court order was cancelled . No letter nothing in journal. The Judge did not know about it and also the appeal is allowed but they are not going to pay out .
I am getting hire and I will not give up as why I should pay for there mistake. I did not know they can over rule my outcome . The court told them they should pay it and they not going to do it .
another stress and anxiety for me .0 -
Unbelievable Annas! You must be fuming. Don't give up, the appeal court decision is what's important, don't give up. If citizen's advice aren't on your side yet, now's the time to get them involved. Let us know how you get on x

btw they closed my claim too ! This is terrible. I phoned My court in Glasgow and they could not believe it either. They told me was allowed but if they made a mistake is there fault. I am punished again and is for my housing.
I informed my housing officer and he was shocked ! What’s going on with DWP UC ! They are punishing people for their mistake . I am emailing my local PM.
I will never give up as they can not mess up with me as you have to also always think what you said to them on the phone. I am really disappointed but that won’t let me down !0 -
congratulations for winning your tribunal case

Unfortunately @durhamjaide2001 although @annas won her tribunal case DWP are saying her claim has been closed therefore it will not apply and no money will be paid.
She will have to fight on.

they closed tonight as I spoke with them they have to pay me. They ratther close my case. They are having so many excuses as the court and me are haven’t received any letters or notifications to tell us the court case is closed. I have a bit knowledge and they are messing with a wrong person. Is disgusting how they are treating all of us here. I can still read and I am going to keep fighting or contact papers . I will ask for compensation they are keeping me ill and notified my GP as my anxiety is up the roof and they don’t care. I may think we are just a number for them at all.
They can not accept they made a mistake and the court correcting and mention that too.
I never give up and keep fighting for my rights .0
