DLA enquiry

I had a phone call from PIP regarding my son on thursday 31st oct 24, she asked me a few questions (she was the decision maker) which i answered. she told me she was awarding medium rate care and low rate motability. She said she would be filing the decision that day and sending out all information on a letter. I no I'm due back pay but my query is when will the back pay be in my account. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ii Charlz, my backpay was included in the first payment PIP made. It was paid 2 weeks after I had my letter. Hope that helps

The title of your thread says DLA but then mention PIP. If your son is moving from DLA to PIP there's no money owed, even if the PIP award is higher than what the DLA award was.
There's also no medium rate care for PIP, it's either standard or Enhanced.
If there's money owed it's usually paid separately from your usual 4 weekly payment.

Hi Charlz, like @yves, my backpay was in my account within two weeks of the assessment. It definitely won't be long now xx

No, I applied for dla for my son. The decision maker called me and entitled him to dla. I was just curious as to when I'd recieve the back pay now the decision has been made

Mine took just over 5 months from start to finish. x

Money owed is always paid first and it usually in your bank 3-5 working days after payment was sent. About 4 weeks later you'll receive the first 4 weekly payment.

There's no timescales. It varies widely depending on area and backlogs.
