Application for UC migrating from ESA support group and on PIP
Hello I was wondering how much detail about my disabilitues i have to include on my UC application. Do i have to put loads of details on how i manage various every day tasks like with ESA. I am in the support group on ESA and have enhanced PIP Daily living component. I have schizophrenia and epilepsy and dont know how much detail to include. I know i dont need to send sick notes and that i should quote i think it was regulation 9 because sick notes dont apply to me because im in the ESA support group. In my previous ESA reviews I've always included a letter from my doctor as well and things from my support worker too. Of course if i dont need all these details then thats great. A woman at Citizens advice said that i dont need all the details but Im not so sure. Could I ask what other peoples experience is and how long the on line form takes to complete too. Thanks 😊

Have you had a letter inviting you to apply for UC? When you fill out the form to apply, you just need to give basic information, such as diagnosis. No other information is needed.

The online form took me about 1-2 hours I think.
I wasn't rushing through it, and kept double checking to make sure I hadn't made any errors. Not all of the questions apply to every person. For example, some may take extra time if they have children, others may take less time if they don't have any housing costs.
Also just to confirm what Poppy said, the migration isn't reviewing your work capability, so there's no need to go into any detail about your conditions. Just put the basic diagnosis, or major symptom if undiagnosed.

Thanks for the advice. Its a relief i dont have to go into too much detail. 😊

Im in the same boat if you have a few items of ID you should be fine that has been the main problem for me trying to gather together enough proof of who i am🙄
