Hi Folks

Most of my working life has been involved in doing admin/finance work. I am in my mid 50s now and thinking of making a change.

Where do you think I should start in choosing a different career?Should I take a skills test or talk to a careers advisor or something else.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Heya @geek84 good question. I'd start with thinking about what you'd like to do. 😊

    We also have some employment support services who may be able to help with working things out?

    Do you have any idea of what you'd like to do for work?

    Hi

    @Albus_Scope

    Yes, ideally I want to become a maths tutor but finding it very difficult to attract students.

    Ah an excellent choice! How long have you been trying to get some students? I'm guessing even with adverts, it could still take a fair while to get some regulars?

    Hi

    @Albus_Scope

    I've been trying to attract students since September, but no success.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    I have seen some online tutoring companies that are actively looking for new comers so there's a lot of scope out there.

    What are you working as now?

    Hello @geek84, this website is aimed at students but has some good tips and useful links and signposting.

    Building up some reviews might be a good way to get more interest too, a lot of people use word-of-mouth recommendations for tutors. Could you look at offering trial sessions or finding more places to advertise?

    Thanks @Morgan_Scope

    I've already created an advert showing free trial lesson.

    @durhamjaide2001 I'm an online maths tutor - can you kindly give details of the companies that you are referring to?

    Thank You
