Last Night and This Morning

This time of year always makes me question the person I am.. Last night I watched the renemberance service from the Royal Albert Hall. It always puts a lump in my throat. Especially when it goes quiet at the end and the poppies drop from the roof. The stories from those that were there either home and abroad are always moving whether it us from WWII or any conflict since. I do 'well up'. I am in awe of what these men and women did and question whether I would have the same heart stomach and bravery to do what they did. I don't know, but would like tobthink O would. I was glad to see that they did a piece on The Battle of Monte Cassino ad my Dad was there and it sometimes gets forgotten in the talk about Normandy. They all put their life on the line so they we could have the life we have. It is something we should NEVER EVER FORGET.

I am now watching the event from the Cenotaph and like last night it brings a lump to my throat especially when they speak to the veterans. My heart, love and respect goes to each and everyone.

I am notnpytting it out there want loads of replies. I just wanted to say how I feel.

My father was 21 when he landed at Normandy in 1944 and saw sights no man should have to. He always said the ones that never came home could rest in peace, the ones that came home had to live with the horrors till they died.

To each and every soldier that gave their life for me I thank you.

I really appreciated reading this @AndyGT. It's a very moving reminder of the debt we owe to them.
