Hi, my name is michaelfrancis! What is this UC review about?
i am not sure what this about? i provided all the details that UC wanted like statements and license ID, photos, i care fulltime for my disabled wife, she has been awarded a lifetime award, i thought as me being my wifes fulltime carer, that this wouldn't effect me, can anyone please advise, thank you

Hi @michaelfrancis, welcome to the community. How long ago did you provide all your statements and ID? Did they speak to you about your statements at all?
Universal Credit are doing a lot of reviews at the moment, so it could be something quite straightforward to check you're still within savings limits and things. Hopefully you can get it sorted without too much stress.

we have no savings at all, we are actually in debt, we are always in our overdraft, it seems they suspect people of wrong doings, its quite disgusting on how they treat the elderly and vunerable

Hi @michaelfrancis, At the moment they're doing lots of these reviews just to check people's entitlements are correct, and it's often nothing to worry about. It's usually a random check, not that they are suspecting you of committing any fraud, but I can totally understand that it feels a little invasive to be asked about your spending.
Fingers crossed your review goes through okay!

It is a straightforward review of your UC claim ( their focus being on savings / capital / unreported income you might have ) - but they are not specifically looking for evidence of fraud. They merely want to make sure you are receiving the right amount of benefit. It is a means tested benefit after all.
During the telephone interview you will be asked simple Yes / No questions regarding your bank statements , savings plans , ISAs , income from property, PayPal accounts etc. They are not concerned about what you spend your money on or about any credit card debt you might have.
Just answer honestly and provide any additional evidence if asked for.
It really is nothing to worry about.
Best wishes

i kind of don't believe its to see if entitlements are correct?, this seems like we are taking steps towards communism, more and more intrusions on our privacy rights, the wording "to see if entitlements are correct" is just a trojan horse element..

Hi @michaelfrancis it's a perfectly normal thing to happen, there's no sinister motives here. They just need to make sure your claim is all correct. I've had one myself and it was nothing to be concerned about.
