The code after 'FREEPOST' is unique to your claim and should be removed from a public forum such as this.
Yes you can use your own envelope to post it to them. You can also pay to send it recorded delivery if you prefer being able to track it, although this is not strictly necessary and you can ask for a free proof of postage receipt from the post office.
Sending back the UC50 form
Hi all,
I have received the UC50 form with a 1st class freepost envelope to send it back to:
Freepost [removed by moderator - personal information]
Croydon BSC UC
Mail Handling Site A
Wolverhampton
WV98 2HB
I have filled the form out for my husband but because i am also enclosing medical records i cannot fit all the paperwork into the envelope they provided.
Can i provide my own jiffy bag and just put the above address and send it back, or maybe just stick the envelope they provided on top of the jiffy bag i am using.
Also does that address accept recorded delivery, don't fancy all this paperwork getting lost.
Just not sure how this free post thing works, wondering if the weight of a item also effects free post……or maybe I'm just looking into it too much 😆
Find it a bit strange they supply such a small envelope considering they ask for any medical stuff to be sent back with the UC50 form.
Any help would be most welcome.
All the best
Denny

Using a Jiffy bag is fine - but you will obviously need to pay for the extra postage. Yes - you could stick the envelope firmly on top.
Before returning make sure every piece of evidence you submit has your husband's Name / NI No on it and any additional Answer pages you have used has the corresponding Question No and your husband's Name / NI No on it ( you probably found the boxes on the form far too small - most claimants do )
Photocopy the entire pack for your records
You must ask for 'proof of postage' at the Post Office.
Best wishes

Sorry i did not know that code was unique to me, i have tried to remove it but i can't find anything to edit my post.
So i can use the above address and use a jiffy, need to use a jiffy as there is around 20 pages of medical records plus 24 pages of UC50 form, will the weight of it effect the freepost?

Freepost usually means the recipient covers the postage cost, so it’s free for the sender (you).
However, there are some size and weight limitations with Freepost, though I'm not sure of the exact limits for this particular service. Usually an A4 envelope/Jiffy containing only paper would be accepted.

Many thanks, put it all into a jiffy (slightly larger than the envelope provided) and stuck the provided envelope with the address on top of the jiffy.
Will take it to my local post office and ask them if there is a charge because of the size and weight and will ask for proof of postage.

That is the right course of action.
