Esa - will getting married trigger a switch to UC?

Hello me and my partner currently get ESA support group, both get severe disability premium as both get pip. It's a joint claim where we both get our own SDP but we've got married. I obviously need to inform them that we have gotten married im wondering if this will trigger a UC switch even though it's already a a joint esa claim living together as if a married couple

Thank you

    Hi,

As you are already on a joint claim, getting married won't affect it.

It's based on living together, not marital status.

Hi @ashiimarie, congratulations on getting married, I hope you'll be very happy together 😊

As OverlyAnxious explained, you're already on a joint claim which is taking into account that you live together, so officially getting married shouldn't affect your ESA.
