Job opportunity put onto my journal, what do I do?
So I just got an email saying I had a message on my UC journal (my first thought was full of swear words tbh) so I checked it and this is what it came up with.
it's hilarious, 12 miles a day??? I can barely get out of my flat most days 🤣
But in all seriousness; what do I do about this? Ignore it? Respond?

12 miles a day is a lot for anyone @PeachyAna90 I might be able to manage walking for 12 meters. 😆
It looks like a generic message that they'll be sending to lots of people on UC. You can always reply with a no thanks if you feel you should reply?

query it with your work coach if you have one if not then just leave a message for the work coach, it does look like a generic message like Albus has mentioned

IMHO, its just a suggestion, not a to do
I used to get that sort of thing some time ago

Yes, it will have been sent as a "group" message. The only time they will stop those is if you have no commitments to look for work or attend appointments.

You do not need to respond to it. Many work coaches send group messages advertising roles like this to their whole case load. You will not get in trouble for ignoring it.
If you would feel better responding, a simple “thank you but this is not suitable due to my conditions” as a reply would suffice.

It is just a mass advertisement for the job basically. Not something catered and sent specifically to you. So you should not need to respond at all, thought if you still feel the need to I think Emilee's suggestion is a good example.
Also I do feel for posties, walking 12 miles a day in any weather is a lot.

Oh wow, 12 miles. I'm just imagining how lost I could get with a 12 mile radius, bearing in mind most days I get confused trying to get out of my neighbourhood xD.

query it with your work coach if you have one if not then just leave a message for the work coach if you are worried, not rocket science

This is not helpful or true. Many people find their work coaches unresponsive and many give unreliable or incorrect advice.

Regardless, it is the correct thing to do as instructed by UC, what happens at their end you can not control however messaging them gives you proof that you have tried, if it becomes a problem
Also, what do you have to lose by messaging them?
Gaining peace of mind that you have tried is what matters to me

I struggle to believe who on earth can do 12 miles. I struggle to do even the 10000 steps and that is about 5 miles. And do it because I have been told it is good. Even if my leg and back hurts. I find it a bit heartless from some people. Very few people would be willing to do those jobs even if they are healthy. 12 miles is too much surely for 90 percent of every person. These people gets premiums by getting people to work . If it was me I would ask the person . Ca you do 12 miles a day?. It is not fair.
