Hi. How long does a replacement entitlement letter take for carers?

Hi just wanted to know I'm waiting on a replacement entitlement letter from carers unit as I have lost my original one, how long would it take do people reckon and would they look at?I'm not on working tax credits and child tax credits I'm just on child benefit and I'm claiming carers allowance because I'm caring for my mum, what would the carers unit check?

If you have asked for a replacement award letter from Carer’s Allowance they should not need to check anything, and they can send another out. It can take around two weeks for it to be received.

What would they check?would they check to see the person who I'm caring for still on P.I.P..would they check to see if I'm on child benefit o

I answered your question earlier this afternoon on someone else's thread so I don't understand why you've asked the same question here. See my advice here.

Hey @emma85, they should just send the letter out to you. There shouldn't be anything to check. I hope it all goes okay 🙂

But it's carers unit they like to check everything don't they.i only claim child benefit for my child under 16 anyway.i just want a copy of my entitlement letter that's all

If you have already been awarded and are only asking for a copy of that award letter, there is nothing that they need to check. Child benefit is not relevant.

Can they check to see if get child benefit

You are definitely talking about Carer’s Allowance, right?
If so, they have no need to check whether you get child benefit.0 -
Yeah I'm taking about carers.
Sorry to be a pain. I just ain't got a clue what they check on their system I know they check to see the person who I'm caring for still has their P.I.P in place

There's nothing to check, they will just send the letter out to you that you requested. Why do you think they would check? the award is already in place.

Hi I'm still waiting on my copy of my entitlement letter,I have requested the copy past couple of weeks ago and still not recieved it

If you don't receive it within the next week, ring to ask them to send another.

It's just annoying that's all

Is there any reason why you requested it? If it's urgent then ring them to ask if it's been sent.

I just want an updated one

Did you have the uprating letter around March/April this year? That covers you for the whole of the tax year.

It was back in 2019?

Uprating letters are sent every year around March/April time.

The only letters I get from carers is how much i get every April and sometimes I don't get that either.is the letters automatically done by their systems or something?

That's the letter I'm referring too. You only receive a letter once a year because the payments remain the same for the rest of the year. I'm unsure if they are automatically generated but I suspect they are.
