Hello I applied for universal credit on 5th Oct. I sent my first month fit note on 14th Oct. Which ran out on 7th Nov. I sent a new 3 month fit note in on 12th Nov. Which was back dated from 7th November to 7th February 2025. I received a message today 25th November to say I have been awarded LCWRA. I didn't have a assessment. I just had to except my commitments today. I'm due my normal payment on 11th of November. So was wandering when I will get my first LCWRA payment. Thank you

After your first Fit Note, LCWRA has a waiting period of 3 full assessment periods before it is added to your payment. During that time no additional money is payable.

Because you had a very quick decision there will be a wait before LCWRA is paid.

October /November: Fit note provided *partial AP not counted for waiting period

    November/December: AP 1

    December/January: AP 2

    January/February AP 3

    February/March: LCWRA payable

    11 March: LCWRA element paid

Please note this is my estimate because you had a gap in providing Fit Notes, which can affect when they start the waiting period from.

That gap in your fit note is very likely going to cause a problem because usually they won't accept that gap. It will be down to a decision maker to make the final decision.

Hello please could you explain the gap. I sent in fit notes exactly when universal credit told me to. So I can't see any gap with fit notes. Thanks

    You said the following..

I sent my first month fit note on 14th Oct. Which ran out on 7th Nov. I sent a new 3 month fit note in on 12th Nov.  Which was back dated from 7th November.

The gap was because your fit note ended on 7th and you didn't provide another until 12th. Even though it was backdated, usually when calculating when the extra money is paid from they won't accept that backdated fit note.

It's a shame as it wasn't my fault I put in for a fit note online on the 5th November I waited until the Friday as I didn't hear anything so phoned Dr reception and they said they didn't receive anything asking for a fit note. So I had to apply again that's why I didn't receive it until the 12th. Surely if it's back dated it shouldn't matter. Universal credit should give us a few days in case of these problems. But thank you for advice

I cant say for definite in your case but i had a few backdated fit ites due to forgetting with my condition and i still got the full backpayment. as even though it was bit late given to them the period covered in the fit notes is continuous
