Hi, my name is loz79! how long does it take for the decision maker for new pip claim?

Ive just received this from DWP how long does it take for the decision maker for new pip claim
We've received the written report of your PIP assessment. We will write to you once we've made a decision on your PIP. As a guide you should hear from us within 8 weeks. You don't need to contact us unless any of the details you gave us have changed. Thank you.

@poppy123456 hi I’ve been waiting 7 months now and have received the same set of texts twice. I’m starting to get really anxious about it and have called but they said there is not backlog

Hi @skiesareblue1111
Unfortunately there is a big backlog with PIP at the moment but 7 months is a long time already to wait so hopefully you will hear back soon!1 -
@Mary_Scope thanks for replying. I just phoned them as it was making me so anxious and they passed me around a bit and then a lady was quite helpful, she said it had been sent back to someone to look at and they should of done it by now and she said she would email who is handling my claim and if they need anything from me further I will be contacted. It’s really making me anxious as she said there is no backlog

It could possibly be that DWP were unhappy with something in the report, and it was returned to the assessment provider.
As she said though it really shouldn't be taking quite so long.
I hope you hear something soon 🙂

@Kimmy87 thanks for replying, I called today and it’s exactly that and the lady said she’s emailed the case manager to give her a nudge as it’s gone over the usual timeframe
