Those of us that live alone: Christmas?...

I don't get a gift and wrap it and the injury, complications and so on HAS dramatically affected my income. BUT I think that would be a lovely thing to do for myself next year. Not even wrap it but buy something as a Christmas gift, online thing like a game or offline thing doesn't matt. I really love this idea and I could do a birthday one too. I got myself something this year, I think it was just an game or something.

I've lived alone for just over 20 years, in that time on Christmas day i think i've been around people for more than 30 mins, maybe twice. The last time I spoke to someone in person standing in the same room as me, or even on the phone, apart from a delivery driver was September. I wasn't an introvert when I moved to my place from my parents house all those years ago, it's just something I've become and gotten used to. Christmas day doesn't bother me in the slightest anymore, it will just be a regular day, and i'll wait for the NFL games to start on Netflix…Americans play on Christmas day which as a brit is something i'll never understand, but it will help break the monotony. 😂

I normally have my son come but I go to my sick son to make sure he has a share as his brother leaves his cats at mine but my eldest is allergic to cats as he’s asthmatic with chronic eczema so I just wish I could get together with others who live alone and it’s hard as being in Bradford we’re isolated but I do go to an age uk group . I love to put my light changing tree up along with light up swirling santas and nativity scene making it really cosy

I don't bother with it, so no decorations. However I eat the food that's available as a treat.
Presents no, cards no. I have birthdays near the dates that I do instead.

"Thanks for the question Biblioklept! I've adjusted to my solitary Christmas Days and anything's better than the family ones I used to dread from about September.."
@WhatThe, I'd honestly never even thought about it like this, and you're so right! I was feeling a bit sad and miserable about it again this year, but you've reminded me of what Christmas's can be like for so many and were for me!! And I realised that in many ways I'm lucky because I get to do things my way, on my terms and no months of dread in advance!!
