Benefit changes.

Hi everyone, I'm new here, and I'm hoping for a bit of advice please.
I'm currently on PIP higher levels for both. UC, and ESA income related. I also get housing benefit and most of my council tax paid through my UC. My 21 year old son lives with me, and gets carers allowance as he's my FT carer, and also gets some UC.
My 39 year old son is going to have to move back in with us, due to a marriage breakdown. He works FT. How will this affect my benefits please?
Thank you in advance.

There's some confusion here with your benefits. You won't be claiming Income Related ESA if you're also claiming UC. Your ESA will be New style ESA as you're also claiming UC. Income Related ESA ends when you claim UC.
Help with your rent will be through UC known as housing element. Unless you're either living in supported or temporary housing. Housing benefit is a different benefit administered through your local Authority.
Council Tax reduction isn't part of UC, it's a separate benefit administered by your local Authority.
If your elder son moves back home it may affect your council tax reduction but because all local Authorities have their own rules I won't be able to advise with that. You need to report the changes if he moves back in.
For help with your rent through UC because your PIP includes the daily living part, there will be no non dependant deductions. You maybe entitled to extra housing element, if there's a shortfall of rent. If all of your rent is covered by housing element, there will be no changes. You do need to report the changes to UC if he moves in just so that they are aware.
As your ESA isn't means tested this will not be affected.

You're right about the benefits, sorry for the confusion, I have trouble remembering things, so I get confused sometimes. Thank you for your help.
