Scoliosis!?

hello,

Sorry, I am new here and I don’t know if I’m even posting in the right place 🙈

About 10 years ago I had an unrelated xray that picked up a “slight scoliosis” nothing more said, I only noticed reviewing notes on X-ray and I forgot about it.

Fast forward a few years, my natural stand is very apparent, I have uneven shoulders, one leg longer than the other, uneven hips etc.

I did see a chiropractor for low back pain a few years ago who said I had a tilted pelvis, but the sessions I had didn’t benefit me at all, so I stopped.

Pain wise silly things pull my lower back out, such as standing at the kitchen sink washing up (completely not a strenuous task, but one that has the same effect multiple times a month)

My question is, if anyone can help, who maybe has scoliosis, would you say this is scoliosis related, maybe got worse? Or is it just that I’m now a bit wonky 🙈

I don’t really want to take up a doctors appointment if I’m just overthinking it.

I’ve attached a picture to show the uneven shoulders, one arm length longer, and jumper that sits lower one side for reference.

again, if this is posted in the wrong place I apologise

many thanks

    Hello @smiler1005

I've scoliosis in my spine which was picked up following investigations into my leg/ foot and back pain.

I've a few things going on with my lumbar spine including degenerative disc disease where the wear is more pronounced on one side , perhaps caused by the scoliosis or perhaps I've caused the scoliosis due to my inability to bare full weight on my left limb??

I've also a leg length discrepancy and am more wonky now than before!😁

It's all resulted in trapped nerves, and bulging discs.

I'm still trying to learn more about all these conditions and whether the curvature of my spine is likely to develop more and cause further complications.

I'd suggest if you are experiencing any pain, (mine started with my lower back, leg and foot,) that perhaps a visit to your GP may be warranted.

Physiotherapy may also be an option and orthotics ?

I understand that you don't want to 'waste your GPs time' but I'd personally make an appointment. I certainly don't mean that in a way to scare or frighten you but just get things checked out 👍
