hey everyone,

In a bit of a dilemma..,

Right, I'll try to be short and straight to the point my current circumstances

I worked most of my 20s,towards my late 20s I decided to go to university.

I'm now finding it difficult to get a job, and I believe I am entitled to universal credit.

I am fit and ready for work.

my concerns are..

my sister who lives in America who will be coming back end of the month, I am currently holding her savings in my account. around 20 K. when she comes back, I will give it back to her. and I don't have any other savings.

would this be an issue when making a claim will this flag up? Obviously, I will give it to her back before I start the claim.

My second issue I have a property overseas worth around 25K.

Haven't worked for the three years I have been at university.

could someone please advise me on both?

The second issue makes the first redundant.

As the property abroad you own is worth over the capital limit for UC (16k), then you are not entitled to Universal Credit.

Hi @Nikolas_Jimenez - & welcome to the community.

Altho your question is hypothetical due to the value of your oversea's property, with the first instance it would be up to a decision maker, & the following perhaps illustrates this nicely (please see the example under H1099):

Based on that information there will be no entitlement to UC.
