Carers allowance

HIHall.i am due a payment of carers allowance on the 27th of this month. My question is. If I cancel carers allowance today.will I lose that payment. Thanks for any information

    Are you sure it’s due on 27th? Carers allowance is usually paid on a Monday.

    If you’re paid 4 weekly then this is paid 3 weeks in arrears and 1 week in advance. Therefore you would only be entitled to payment up until you cancel it.

    HI poppy. Probably is Monday the 30th, it's just someone mentioned it might be paid early due to Christmas. Should I cancel carers allowance on the 30th then.

    The 30th isn’t a bank holiday so it will be paid as normal. If you’re no longer caring for that person for at least 35 hours per week then you should cancel your claim now. Otherwise it’s entirely up to you when you cancel it.
