You receive class 3 NI credits towards your state pension automatically.

All of them count towards your state pension. Class 2 only concerns those that are self employed and count towards a New style ESA and Maternity Allowance.

Class 1 are from being employed and also certain benefits like ESA and JSA and also count towards entitlement to New style ESA/JSA and Maternity Allowance.

Class 3 are from UC and child benefit up until your young child reaches 12 years old. These only count towards your state pension only.

There's also class 4 if self employed but only count towards your state pension.

I've not heard of them saying there'll be more money for genuine claimants. Very few people claim benefits fraudulently. There will be changes announced sometime in the Spring but no one knows what they will be yet and any changes that may happen will not be put into place for years.
