PIP APPOINTEE REMOVAL.
Hi, my mum has just been removed as my appointee after 2 years of financial abuse. I’m currently in a hostel that requires weekly rent. My pip was stopped whilst this went on, they said it should be resumed today. Does anyone know if it’ll come in by the end of the week? As I need it too otherwise I will be homeless for Christmas as I have 7 days from today to pay. Thanks to anyone that can help.

Payment will take 3-5 working days to go into your bank after it was sent. Are you claiming for help with the rent?

there’s nothing I can do for help with the rent, my adolescence worker already asked for a discretionary which was denied. Fingers crossed it’ll come in before Christmas.

A hostel is treated as temporary accommodation and you can claim Housing benefit for help with the rent. For a DHP you must already be claiming help with the rent through either Housing benefit or Housing element of Universal Credit, so this is probably why you were refused.

Hi @duncanmcg2017 I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. I can see you've had some feedback from community members, so I won't add anything more for now but please keep us updated over the coming days.
Best wishes,
Holly.
