A Christmas poem.
A Christmas poem.
I haven't been here for a while,
Some let out a big cheer
But I have not been idle,
no not at this time of year.
I've been sorting out some benefits
the ones we all should get
and let the system that fixes it
do what they do best.
So while all this is going on
I forgot what time it is
and now I'm running round
gathering some good cheer.
Some say it's that Prosecco
that big bottle I know you like
others want the new Nintendo
and all those ancillaries.
For me, it's quite simple
To have my family there
to celebrate Christmas round the table
where arguments disappear.
The sound of people laughing
with funny hats upon their head
and bottles of bubbly
with corks flying through the air.
But most of all for me
it's to reflect the year gone by
and remember I'm still breathing
and I'm certainly not dead.
The biggest present that I have
is the love I have for them
and knowing it's not forced on them to be here,
with their Mum and Dad.
So enough of this reminiscing
I have a party to plan
so what are you doing reading this
Its almost Christmas time…..
Merry Christmas to everyone here. Regardless of your god or faith, I hope you spare a thought for loved ones who are sadly no longer here.
