Hmrc and access to work stress
Has anyone had any luck with help from access to work. I uploaded a post here the other day, but I wanted other peoples help.
I have just started Access to work and did my first claim for my support worker and my payroll says I need to pay hmrc. Which I understand as I pay hmrc for my PA with direct payments. However access to work have not allocated money for me to pay hmrc.
ALSO why does it take so long for access to work to send the grant money once claimed. ALSO why doe access to work not understand me when I ask do I need to pay hmrc as I have a support worker I pay. I've finally found something online that says something about paying tax
Sorry for rant and im aware this might not make sense, but I'm just having an awful experience with Access to work and I'm starting to feel like I'm insane.

I’m not much help but just thought I’d post to say HMRC admin can be a bit confusing so it’s not just you. I managed to claim exactly Zero of my grant whilst working for an employer even though it included reimbursement for some things. is it possible to ask both ATW and HMRC to make reasonable adjustments for the delay and explain your circumstances. It sounds very frustrating.

Hi Wobblyone,
I'd like to say there is, but I've been in the phone to both hmrc and a2w and both seem confused. The guy from hmrc today didn't even know what I meant by access to work!? Then access to work just kept asking is my support worker self employed or agency. I was like technically neither she applied for the job and got it 🤷🏼♀️. So confusing that no one seems to know the answer. I'm going to try Citizens advice next to see if they know.
I wish it was more straightforward. I
