Significant backpay owed 😁 but will imminent migration scupper this 🤯
👋 my name is Gaynor. I was diagnosed with RR MS in 2011, I stumbled on this group recently, and instantly felt like this was a place where unbiased support and advice was given by like minded people.
I have been in receipt of both PIP (enhanced mobility) (standard care) for around 10 years, and am in the support group for income related ESA.
I have 3 children (30 and 24) but they have their own houses and children now. Nobody does or has climed CA, and I have always lived alone.
I received a letter 3 days ago stating I had to migrate to UC, but whilst searching for the contact number ,I stumbled on an article about Severe Disability Premium and realised I should have been receiving it, and NOT to migrate to UC until I was in receipt as it does not exist when claiming ESA and you would not be able to claim backpay.
I phoned ESA and explained that I thought I was entitled and the man filled in the form over the phone and said I should hear back from them in the new year.
I'm now worried that I will not hear back before the deadline for migration 😥.
Does anybody have any knowledge or experience surrounding this dilemma please.🤞
