Hello everyone! Just wanted to wish everyone at Scope and the Members /Participants

the wish for a peaceful and pleasant Christmas!

To al those people who are spending Christmas Day alone, I shall be thinking of you as I have had to do this in previous years, so I can feel for you. When I worked I used to volunteer to work all of Christmas and New Year to avoid being alone. Unfortunately, many do not have that 'luxury'. For those at home alone, hopefully you will check into the 'chats' and find others in a similar situation to share some conversation with.

Hoping everyone manages to find some peace, comfort and joy this Christmas Season!

Will anybody be around on Christmas Day? I'm alone without family. I woke this morning feeling terrible. I'm just trying to focus on the many very happy family Christmasses I've been lucky to have had: the years I had people that loved me.

Hi Bluebell21 and anyone else logging on.

This year, I am fortunate to be going to my son's family for Christmas Day! As I'm recovering from recent surgery and quite limited at what I'm allowed to do at present, so it will be lovely. That said I really feel for those of you who will feel (and be alone, in the sense that you may not physically see someone!) I have been there myself but I have also been fortunate (when I was working) to choose to work all Christmas and New Year. I liked to give back to some of the patient's I would be visiting who would not be seeing anyone else accept the nurse visiting briefly. It also enabled me not to think about being 'home alone'.

I may not be on line tomorrow but I shall be thinking of you all who are going to have online 'friends' to communicate electronically with. I hope you all manage to find some Peace and comfort from others in similar situations. Thinking of you!

I know this time of year can be especially tough when you're spending it alone. It's okay to feel however you're feeling, whether that's a bit lonely, reflective, or even relieved to have some quiet time.

There's always someone on the community over Christmas, it might not be as lively as usual but many of us pop on and spend time together here.

    Merry Christmas to you @figraspberry41

Yes Zipz, I'll be here on and off.

I think when I play my Christmas CD's my aloneness will hit home. I'm fortunate to be able to get outdoors tomorrow for a short while and I don't intend to do any cooking but it will come.

Happy Christmas eve and see you tomorrow 🤗

Thankyou to Bluebell 21, Adrian and everyone who has kindly sent messages, they are much appreciated.

I would like to wish everyone that pops in and out of the 'chat' line today a "Happy Christmas Day!"

For all of those who are less fortunate than myself today, I am thinking of you, having spent a few Christmas's alone previously. Hopefully, most of you will be able to 'chat' with someone on line through the day and whilst t.v. usually leaves much to be desired, perhaps radio will also help to make things seem less lonely.

Thank you to everyone taking the time and trouble to log on and be there for anyone joining the conversations! Wishing you all a peaceful and as enjoyable day as you can.

Good morning! I hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas Day! I’m spending the day with my little dog, and we just had a wonderful ten minutes opening presents. She’s absolutely thrilled with hers and really knows what this day is all about—this is her 12th Christmas!

    Good Morning MW123,

Thank you for your kind thoughts, yes, I had a lovely time watching the Grandchildren (ages 6, 4 and 2yrs), also the adults opening their gifts!

I hope you managed to enjoy the rest of your day after opening your gifts and watching you dog open hers! 12 years old, I think that is quite an age for a dog isn't it?

Perhaps you have some plans for today? A friend has kindly said she will collect me and take me to share today with her husband and her parents, who have kindly invited me! Unfortunately, I'm not able to drive myself for a few more weeks yet as I recover from surgery but pleased that my friend who lives in Northumberland and whom I do not get to see often has offered to pick me up and bring me back later! For which I'm very grateful!

Wishing you a pleasant Boxing Day! Will you be able to get out if only to take your dog for a walk? Maybe, you will see if anyone is available on the chat line ? Have a nice day whatever you are up to! Best wishes.

    Hi Bluebell21,

Thank you for your kind message. Yes, back home and although quite a long day for me Christmas Day was lovely watching the Grandchildren (and adults) open their presents! My son cooked an amazing Christmas lunch for 9, which is amazing for the number of people.

I hope you also had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed the festivities of Boxing Day!

A HUGE THANK YOU, to everyone for their kind thoughts and comments, all very much appreciated!
