Hi, my name is retireddr123!
To answer the first question about GP and repeat prescription.
The drug she is on is a very addictive and strong drug. The GP has prescribed a cheaper drug, although addictive is as effective. Indeed the patient can ask for a second opinion. However unless there is a very good reason for continued use of this very strong drug for the patient's wellbeing it must be changed as GP advised. There is good reasons the drug mentioned is not offered easily. I also suggest the patient seek further help from a professional pain management who are very knowledgeable and helpful.
