Hi, I would like to ask if I am given a painkiller that is harmful to me and the hospital doctor says that it is not good for me. I tell the GP the long list of side effects, specifically I ask for psychological help to quit and I ask for a change of medicine. I get promises from the GP for everything and all promises remain. They have been playing with me for a year. I tried to talk to the manager, but he doesn't even answer my email. What can I do, can anyone help?

    Sorry Esther0, that seems subtle.

Is there an better obvious alternative?

I now believe in any telecommunication I have with health provider/social services/benefits etc I get email address or physical address and write to confirm our telecon.

I would write to both your doctor and surgery manager and ask for help in resolving this issue.

If this is ignored, with no acknowledgement of action please take it up with local area Health Board, then if no communication take it to both MP and Medical Ombudsman.

    Hope you get some answers.

If you have a specialist/consultant I’d contact their secretary and politely ask if they’d mind putting what the consultant said in writing to your GP.
If it’s a multi Dr surgery perhaps you could see a different Dr who maybe more sympathetic or knowledgeable about your condition/medications.

    All the best.
