PIP assessment in audit, how come my assessment hasn't been received by DWP?
hello, I am just writing as I am looking for advice. I had my phone call assessment for PIP on 16th December 2024 as it was coming up to Christmas I wasn’t expecting this to be sent back to DWP soon. So I waited until after Xmas to ring. I called them 2 weeks after the appointment on the 30th they said my form was complete (it was in audit) so I am now on the 4th January and my complete assessment has still not been returned to DWP. I really don’t want to keep ringing but the nerves are driving me insane. If the audit and checks are complete how come my assessment still hasn’t be received by DWP?

Forms are returned electronically. All I can suggest is that it's still in the audit and there's no timescales how long it will remain there.
Who did you ring was it PIP or the health assessment providers? It would need to be the health assessment that you ring because only they can tell you exactly what's happening at the moment. It's out of DWPs hands until it's been returned.

hi thank you for your reply.
It was the health assessment I rang. The first time I rang they said the assessment was being reviewed. The second time I rang the say all the checks and assessment where complete. If complete why the wait to send it back?

It's possible that the person you spoke gave you incorrect information. It's not the first time I've known this happen, it also happened to me back in 2017. I would expect it to be returned as soon as the audit is complete. There would be no need to hold onto it after that.

I’ll leave it another week and then I will ring again I was expecting a back log due to the assessment being right before Christmas anyways. Thank you for your replies they’re appreciated

There wouldn't be backlogs with returning the assessment report. Once they are written they are mostly returned straight away electronically. It's just unfortunate in your case that the report was chosen for audit.
