Hi I work 12 hrs shifts and do 48 hours a week at present time I work tue wed sat sun and these shifts work fine for me and fine for the lady who works opposite my shifts but now manager wants to change my shifts which will make me work 3 on 1 off 3 on over a 2 week period plus other days but what I'm going to struggle with is the 3 on 1 off 3 on is there anything I can do thank you

    Legally you can request as a reasonable adjustment a pattern of hours that best suits your health. However legally your employer is at liberty to refuse the request and say it doesn't suit the needs of the business. Even if you've gone through Occupational Health and their recommendation is the same as your request. Some employers are more accommodating than others.

    Hi @lizzy25 and welcome to the online community. 😊

    @Kimmy87 is correct, you can request a reasonable adjustment pattern if it supports your disability needs but it get's a little muddy when it comes to whether or not they do/have to accept this. It very much depends on the individual circumstances.

    If you've got a good relationship with your manager, it might be worth having a chat with them initially to see if they can support your needs.
