Dla to pip

Hi, I've been on esa cb and dla long term now due to severe ill health. I have yet to be transferred over to pip and I am absolutely dreading it. With the incoming tighter restrictions from labour which I'm assuming will make it more difficult to claim pip, will this make it harder for indefinite dla to pip people to succeed in their claim?

I really don't understand why those on indefinate dla need to be reassessed as it hard enough being ill all the time without the added dwp stress and the worry of losing the money. Additionally is there any further news on when approximately dla to pip people will be assessed yet.?

No announcements have been made about PIP and until they do announce something and changes are put into place everything remains as it is. Even if they do announce something changes are not going to be overnight and it will take time to put everything into place.

There's never been an automatic entitlement for those moving from DLA to PIP. DLA is a completely different benefit to PIP with totally different criteria. DLA is about day/night time care but PIP is about the descriptors and scoring points.

PIP was introduced in April 2013 and you're not the only one that still claims DLA. The timescale for those moving from DLA went out of the window a very long time ago and I don't believe there are any timescales now.

If your DLA award is low and you think you score enough of points for a higher PIP award then you can of course put in a change of circumstances and claim PIP.

Timescales are only ever a guide but you should allow up to about 6 months, although could be less of course.

Thanks, my sons DLA runs out on the 13th March. If the decision takes longer than this will his dla just stop or continue till a decision made. This is the first time I'm renewing.
