Late mum SDP entitlement
Hello all ,
Im new to the boards and have a bit of an odd question .
My husband has been advised that he should have been in reciept of SDP for a while , thus is now being looked into , but it got me thinking that my beloved Mum who has very recently passed should have been entitled to SDP according to the regulations we have recently been told of . Is there anyway of getting this checked ? Or will they disregard it now she has passed ,
Thanks in advance for any help ,
Tottie

Hi,
As long as you have the details of her previous benefits then you can call and ask whether she was entitled to SDP. The money should still be backdated and awarded to the beneficiary of the will.
You would have to contact the place for whichever means tested benefit she was receiving - such as ESA, IS or pension credit for example.
