Some of the Best

Some of the Best Celebrities have passed on but will always be remembered.I loved watching Michael Parkinson over the years.Thought he was a genius and brought out the best in every guest he interviewed.I also came across some old footage of Paula Yates. She really was a beautiful and intelligent woman and it's sad that life ended how it did for her. Then there is the incredible Tina Turner who's voice will live on in her music for ever. The list goes on…

And on!
In the early noughties I won a competition at Liverpool Bluecoat Gallery which asked us to describe our ideal conversation.
I chose the Junction Club in Manchester (which has great live music) as the venue for my conversation with Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Joni Mitchell, Jesus, Freud, Hitler, Thatcher (Boo!), Doctor Who and about three others.
I still find that situation an interesting thing to imagine.
The (Chinese) artist involved had done the same in various countries/cities and he created that photo with some actors, a lot of makeup and I.
I could probably find that photo if anyone really cares.

Coincidentally Ranald Bowie was another of the people in my picture!
I'll try to find it tomorrow, I've got a lot of computers and drives.
My goal was to encourage people to imagine the situation Jane315starx suggested.
Who would you like to talk to and perhaps where?

Gutted about Dennis Law, he was a real gentleman. The current crop are too busy navel gazing and aren't fit to clean his boots.

@Ranald I don't really know a great deal about football but he obviously was a Gentleman as you say.Everyone that is speaking of him on the tv and media have such lovely things to say

Cilla Black and Paul O Grady are another 2 celebrities who I really enjoyed watching on tv and were great friends.I miss their shows and believe they both had so many more years of joy to bring. But again they live on with recorded things we can watch

A couple of people have said David Bowie. Brilliant musician and a massive loss to the music world. I was a big fan
Has anyone mentioned Prince? Passed away the same year.Another major loss

Oh so many amazing musicians have left us!
For me, being a big old rocker, I really miss Layne Stayley, Chris Cornell and Kurt Cobain. And Bowie, but I think everyone misses Bowie.1 -

Yes Catherine21 I used to watch Captain Caveman (blast from the past!) And Danger Mouse.@quinceorange24-Yes very sad to hear about the recent death of Tony Slatery and the Actor and television personality Paul Danan.I did see the interview with Dame Edna on this morning ( which you referred @Catherine21 and it was hysterical.I also agree with birdwatcher and Albus about Bowie and can add to that the incredible Aretha Franklin and Karen Carpenter.I have actually met many celebrities over the years but the nicest without question was Fiona Phillips. It was over 20 years ago but she really is such a genuinely lovely person.I was extremely sad to hear of her dementia diagnosis a couple of years ago.

Just to add Fiona is very much still with us and let's hope that with all the latest and upcoming treatments for dementia there is some positive news for her and everyone else affected
1 -
She is only 63 😔
We discussed dementia trials and positive outcomes recently on the forum.
