would being in a domestic violence relationship and wanting to leave and having a disability a high priority for social housing?

what will happen if I put that on my application. Im scared of going into emergency accommodation, how quick should waiting list be if you’re high priority?

In my area serious risk of harm from domestic violence would be band A, if your name is added to the list. In most areas you need to have lived in that area for a certain number of years or have a local connection to the area, such as family that you need support from.

You would need to tell them what's happening and send some evidence, if you have it. Your application will then be assessed and you will be placed into a band, if accepted onto the list.

There are no timescales how long it would take to be rehoused due to the shortage of properties all over the country.

    Hey

It greatly varies from area to area but where I am you could be placed in Band B as Band A is strictly reserved for “Disasters” such as homes been destroyed by flood or fire, Band B Medical is the only one above Band B but getting the medical add on is quite a challenge.

As for wait times this is greatly changes from area to area, Where I am a standard Band B would be placed in temporary accommodation(Hostel, Hotel etc) until acceptable housing can be found, This can be anything from several months to several years depending on the type of property needed etc.

As Poppy said you would need a local connection to the area also(pretty sure that’s the standard to all councils)

Best way to get more accurate info for your area would be to contact your local council.
