Hi I'm new here and hoping for advice. I have low grade ovarian cancer and needed major surgery in Jan 24. The cancer is classed as life limiting but is currently very stable due to medication. I take lerazole which has horrendous side effects and I'm in constant pain.

I have other medical issues Osteoathetitis and bilateral hydropheosis which again causes pain. I'm on some strong medication prescribed by the palliative care team. I still work as I was determined to keep my independence but it's hard and I would like to reduce my hours.

I applied for pip in April 24 and have had a terrible time with DWP losing my medical evidence and other delays in the process only to be refused pip and awarded 0 points with very little explanation. I requested my transcript and it seems I scored enough for enhanced on both. Does anybody have experience of this. I feel DWP have treated me terribly and while previously the majority of my problems were physical I now feel anxious and depressed.

It's very rare for them to go against the report but I have seen it happen. Are you challenging the decision by requesting the MR and then Tribunal if needed? This is the best way forward.

Yes I asked for the M R already. It's taking such a lot of time mentally right now and DWP are never good at providing you with information. I will try again thank you x

MR decisions are currently taking up to about 15 weeks. Most MR decisions remain the same so if this happens you can proceed to Tribunal.

This is always the best way forward, rather than starting a new claim. If you need further help please just ask and someone will be able to advise you.

Hi @fee68, welcome to the Scope online community 😊 I hope you're feeling okay today, it sounds like a lot has happened and the PIP process certainly doesn't help. I hope your MR goes well, please do let us know if you have any questions about it!
