Sticking together
As the Government debates over where to grasp back these 'Billions' to try and level out the Economy and leaving us all worrying about what this means for us.Tensions, emotions and opinions about politics are running high.We may disagree with each other entirely on our what we think or feel about a situation, a person or an outcome. But we must stick together and focus ( I think anyway) on remaining civil to each other and supportive.Sending love x

My dog is all the support I need!
Seriously, I totally agree with you. Try not to put yourself through the wringer, not until we get some details on any upcoming review.

Nothing official will be announced until Spring, anything between now and then is just going to be opinion, rumour and speculation.
Perhaps wait until the Spring and official announcements, and not read anything until then.

Is there nobody you can talk to? It's all very well me saying wait until we have something concrete, but logic can only take us so far with regards to anxiety.
Please try not to overthink this, and definitely stay away from The Daily Mail, Express, GB News etc.

I've been commenting about the reforms to death and it hasn't been doing my mental health any good. I will concentrate on a hobby to take my mind off it. It's the fear of the unknown that is putting me on edge.
Try not to click on any benefit related articles and don't watch any videos.

that is the answer for those who can't divert their worries and mind away, occupy, occupy, and occupy your mind some more.
throw your full concerntration into something watching films, tv shows, reading a book.
adult colouring books can be rather addictive and therapeutic.
put the phone and laptop down on the other side of the room or home to stop the temptation to search out the latest speculative drivel in the papers.
remember search engines match keywords to search terms that get hit the most, that's why if we Google our symptoms doctor Google tells us we died in 2008 and nobody told us! because people always click the fatal disease links pushing them higher up the SEO.
Although it's on pause my radio station is a good example I had to soend hours setting up keywords to push my station to the top of googles searches, This took time but was easily done.
so if some rag wants you to see their drivel all they do is type "dwp" "benefits" etc into their websites separately sections and boom vulnerable people searching anything at all will see their vile tragic article.

Very well said, Nightcity. Non dom billionaires and their media platforms are a curse, quite frankly.

@Catherine21 I think it is extremely hard to deal with along with everything else we have to deal with.I feel like I'm jekyll and Hyde right now as in I'm totally depressed one minute and the next able to make logical comments.Just before I spoke to the therapist yesterday on the phone I was totally stressed out which led to me almost hyperventilating. He had to calm me down but ud got myself into such a state ( which I often do) but verbalising it actually made me almost pass out.But I think what we need to do now as extremely anxious people is focus on what helps. What doesn't help is reading every snippet of negativity. We are always all here for each other which is a great help x.

absolutely, vulnerable people are being tormented by rot like the "reach" media group who post endless garbage to frighten
The internets downside because back before the net vulnerable people wouldn't go out and buy 20 different newspapers 7 days a week and forensically search them.

Although I refuse to worry about anything government and DWP related on principle, I do worry myself seriously sick about Many things and get a lot of nasty physical symptoms which I don't want anyone else here to get to the stage of getting.
I can be both logical and irrational myself but we are stronger than some think.
Not ss alone in these fights either as last week showed, I'm sure that'll be the first of MANY court cases this year.

Cameron and Osborne were very irresponsible with their 'strikers v skivers' rhetoric in the coalition days, and things have got worse.

My son likes me to play games for hours on end with him and he's discovered online scrabble which we play together. You could perhaps play this also? As it matches you up against online players if this is something you might be interested or perhaps something simular to focus away from news. Its really quite enjoyable

Despite the lack of attention from certain tv news outlets, the middle east and Sudan occupied alot of my thoughts the last wee while. The list is long; Myanmar, Ukraine, Venezuela, North Korea to name but a few.
In the end, although it is important to know of these things, it isn't healthy to dwell on them. I now know when to step away.

@Ranald yes sometimes it is very easy to become overwhelmed with things we have no power over.Although we may intense interest or concern it affects our wellbeing so recognising it is an extremely healthy step

YouTube as well. The more videos you watch about benefits, the algorithm picks this up and pushes more videos on your homepage and you end up going down a destructive rabbit hole.
The less you engage with those videos, the less you see on your homepage. Hopefully you won't see any at all, unless you actively search for them.

I use YouTube daily never once seen any such video, which does prove your point that if you don't actively search it you'll receive only matches to what you like.
in my case true crime, paranormal, old tv idents, shortland street re runs on the official channel etc

I love true crime programs and also these programs where they delve into body behaviour how it can give us away I.e guilty mannerisms ( my brain is not finding the right words tonight but I'm hoping you know what I mean)

I tend to watch Frenchie videos and history videos.
